It is the use of speciality software for translation of similar versions of technical documents.

When to use the translation software?

• For translation of extensive projects (manuals etc.) with repeated use of applied terminology, expressions, phrases, or whole sentences or paragraphs, which can be identified by the software and translator can be offered with their possible translation.
• For complicated translation, e.g. translation of software or Web pages where the translation software will allow the translator to extract the plain text from the translated material, remember its position and put it back after its translation creating an identical but translated document.
• For projects where a specific translation dictionary has been or will be created for possible use for the whole range of professional subject translations.
• If you need to keep the terminology used.
• For DTP-intensive texts.

Translation using the CAT systems creates so-called translation memory that can be used for the translation of subsequent or similar texts, e.g. updated versions, which makes the translation cheaper and ensures keeping the consistence in the terminology used and other aspects of the text.
